When you hear about a product that's been around since before your parents were born, you're bound to get a little bit curious. Maybelline is bringing their iconic mascara to the Philippines for a "limited time" (until September) which I assume to mean that they're testing if it'll sell before deciding to make it a regular item like it is abroad.
For now, Great Lash is only available in one variant: Water Proof, and one color: Very Black. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in the hope that we'll someday get to try the other variants in browns, navy blue, and clear.

You know what, if I wanted to make little triangles with my lashes, I'd go for this mascara, but since that's usually not part of the agenda, I'm going to say that this is a bad thing. The brush isn't very helpful at separating lashes because of the gaps between the bristles, so prepare for more than the usual wand-juggling.
It lends a bit of volume and some length, so plus points for the double-effect. And it's easy to remove, for a waterproof mascara. It doesn't get washed off by sweat, but it gives in to some light scrubbing with non-waterproof makeup remover and facial wash.

Left: with ordinary facial wash Right: (the crumbly bits at the bottom) with a mild non-waterproof makeup remover |
Pros:
- Good size for little eyes
- Volumizes and lengthens
- Easy to remove
Cons:
- Makes little Illuminati triangles ΔΔΔ
- Limited edition
- Not really waterproof
Verdict
- Scent: N/A
- Packaging: 4/5
- Price: 4/5
- Performance Rating: 3/5
I like the thin wand and how the formula comes off easily, but it clumps a fair bit. I'd recommend this to someone looking for a little bit of both volume and length, as long as they've got strong mascara-jiggle game. Don't forget that it's limited edition though, so snap up these babies while they're still available until September 2015; after all, they're only P350 each.
